- Introduction
Welcome to Used Vehicles Importers Association web portal https://uvia-portal.emaadvocates.com (“UVIA”), an web based digital portal that provides services pursuant to the promulgation of Single Approval Vehicle certifications as required by Transport Malta for the importation of used vehicles from Japan.
This Payment Policy outlines the terms and conditions governing the use of the relevant payment services. By using these services, you automatically acknowledge and agree to adhere to these terms as herewith constituted under this policy. Please read and understand thecontents carefully.
- Payment Methods
The portal offers the following payment methods for your convenience:
- Credit/Debit Cards: We accept major credit and debit cards, including Visa and MasterCard through industry-standard Payment Gateway Providers such as Stripe
Please be informed that bank transfers are not available for such specific services or transactions.
- Payment Authorisation
By making a payment through the online portal, you grant us explicit authorisation to charge your chosen payment method for the total amount due, including any applicable taxes, web portal maintenance fees, administrative fees, bank charges and payment processing fees. You also irrevocably confirm that you have the necessary authority to use the selected payment method.
- Payment Security
We prioritise the security of your payment information and utilise industry-standard security measures to protect your data.
However, we cannot guarantee the security of payment methods used through third-party payment processors.
- Billing and Invoices
You will receive billing payment confrimations for the services and products you choose to purchase through the web portal.
Payment Confirmations will detail all charges, taxes, and any applicable fees. It is your responsibility to carefully review these documents for accuracy and report any discrepancies within one (1) day of receipt.
An official invoice shall reach the dealer via email directly by the GreenKar Technical Services as the official Technical Service Provider duly authorised by Transport Malta for UVIA Operations. No direct transactions shall be made by the dealer to the the mentioned Technical Service Provider.
- Applicable Fees and Payment Terms
The payment shall become instantaneously due and payable, immediately upon the order of services/products in the user’s cart. Orders which are not paid before requesting a technical service, shall not be processed.
The fees per Single Vehicle Approval certificate shall going forward be fixed at the rate of €129.00 inclusive of Value Added Tax which shall constitute the initial price per SVA certificate together with additional fees which represent the below additional costs and third-party disbursements per certificate:
- Bank charges relating to third-party international bank transfer charges;
- The circa 2.0% payment gateway charges;
- Fixed fee of €0.25 local bank charges;
- Firewalls and web portal security fees;
- Web development and maintenance fees;
- EMA Advocates administrative fee;
- Refunds
Refunds shall not be effectuated unless tangible evidence is provided that the service requested is no longer needed. Refunds shall be given in the form of a free allocation of the next Single Vehicle Approval certificate which you shall require, therefore monetary refunds will not be provided and such shall extend solely to credit notes. Refund Requests shall be made to sva@emaadvocates.com
- Payment Disputes
If you believe there is an error or unauthorized transaction on your payment, please contact us via email on sva@emaadvocates.com within two (2) days to resolve the issue. We will conduct an investigation and provide a prompt response.

- Changes to Payment Policy
We reserve the right to update or amend this Payment Policy at any time. Any changes will take effect immediately upon posting the revised policy on our website. We strongly recommend checking our website regularly for the most current information. When the Payment Policy is being updated, users shall receive a notification via email to advise users of the changes being affected 30 days prior to such changes being put into effect.
By using our online portal and making payments, you automatically agree to this Payment Policy and any future updates or changes.
